A Family Owned Laser Cutting Workshop in Bream Bay
A lot of signage in New Zealand is bought in from elsewhere and finished locally. We do things a little differently. When you get in touch you are talking to the people who will actually make your job, so if something needs changing partway through, it usually can be.
Regan spent more than twenty years working in high-end superyacht fitouts, in cabinetry manufacture and installation, and he is a qualified builder. That is a background where the tolerances are tight and the finish matters, and it is the reason we are comfortable being handed a set of plans and asked to work from them.
Kelly looks after the design side and takes care of customers. Most jobs arrive as a photograph, a rough sketch, a logo in the wrong file format or simply a description over the phone, and turning that into something we can cut is all part of the service. You do not need artwork ready to go, so please just send whatever you have.

It is a background where the tolerances are tight, the materials are expensive and the finish has to be right the first time. That experience comes through in the work: our dash panels line up with the holes already in the boat, engraved labels sit square in a switchboard cutout, and the edges nobody is likely to look at are still finished properly.
It also means that if we think a job is not going to work as described, we will let you know before it is made rather than afterwards.

Most jobs arrive as a photograph, a rough sketch, a logo in the wrong file format, or a description over the phone. Turning that into artwork we can cut is part of what you are paying for, and it is usually the part people are most worried about. You do not need a print-ready vector file and you do not need to know which material you want.
Send us whatever you have and we will come back with a proof showing the job at actual size, in the material you have chosen, before anything is cut.
A CO2 laser cuts and engraves in a single pass with no tooling to make and no minimum run, which is why we are just as happy making one sign as forty labels, and why short runs are not priced as awkwardly as they are with other methods.
Two tone laminate, often called traffolyte, is what we use for switchboard labels, valve tags, asset plates and door numbering. The engraved layer is a different colour right through the material, so the lettering cannot rub off. Acrylic suits shop signs, logo signs and counter signage, because it cuts to any shape and the edges polish as they are cut. Bamboo and timber are lovely for corporate gifts, boards, boxes and awards. For panels and plates that live outdoors or in an engine room we use stainless or anodised aluminium.
Everything is cut, engraved and assembled by hand here in Northland. Nothing is sent away and nothing arrives pre-made.
The workshop is at One Tree Point, so we cover Bream Bay and Whangarei for anything that needs measuring, fitting or installing. That includes shopfronts, footpath signs, wayfinding, and fire action and evacuation signage.
Anything that travels well, we send. Engraved labels, dash panels, asset tags and corporate gifts go out by courier all around the country, and a good share of our marine work is for boats based in Auckland.
If you are not sure whether we cover your area, please just ask. It is usually a yes.
